Search for Bluebonnets

Updated: Jan 7, 2020

At the very end of March my husband and I took a road trip to Ennis, TX. I had been researching the best place to see bluebonnets and pictures of Ennis kept popping up. We left in the morning and drove about an hour and a half to get to Ennis. The closer we got the prettier it got. We have bluebonnets and other wildflowers in Granbury, but they are generally just in the ditches and in smaller patches. We drove the whole Ennis Bluebonnet trail and it did not disappoint. There were whole fields full of bluebonnets and other wildflowers. Although the flowers were beautiful, my favorite stop was probably where the Belgian horses were. The ranch manager happened to be there at the same time. He was super friendly and told us all about the horses and the donkeys. I think I could have spent all day there taking their pictures. I would most definitely recommend the Ennis Bluebonnet trail in bluebonnet season and I can't wait to go back next year!

I love how the Dallas skyline is in the background. It is over 30 miles away.
