Best of 2020

Best of blog posts are one of my most favorites to create every year... even though they take me forever to choose and put together! I love getting to go back through all my images and picking out just some of my favorites! Just like every other year, I had some of the very best clients in 2020. I was able to photograph in Wyoming, Saskatchewan and Alberta. I got to shoot in some of my most favorite places and I found some new favorites along the way!

When I wrote my Best of 2019 post last January my husband and I had just been told that we were headed back to Texas. He signed papers to make it official, listed the house and we were looking for a new house in Texas! Five days later, while my husband was in Texas, his company decided to let him go after 20+ years with them. We were shocked to say the least. Plans had to change drastically and in March I headed back to Canada and he followed shortly after.

We then spent April to October living in our fifth wheel on my parents ranch. I got to help with calving season and checked cows every day which is one of my most favorite things! Branding, chasing cows, moving cows and weaning, I got to help with it all. Our nephew spent about a month with us and he absolutely loved checking cows and riding in tractors and going for rides in the side by side. Living in our fifth wheel wasn't always ideal (especially with a super cold spring and wind almost every day) but I got to be on the ranch for one last calving season before it sold.

We spent a few weeks in the summer camping and boating at one of our new favorite places. My parents bought a boat which was a fun new experience!

In September my husband found a job in Sylvan Lake. I headed there at the end of the month to house hunt. We looked at a pile of houses but found a gorgeous house in Blackfalds and we got possession of it at the beginning of December.

2020 didn't go at all as planned but it wasn't all bad either. I'm super grateful for all the weddings and sessions that I was able to shoot. I am honored each and every time I am asked to be apart of something so special. I want to thank each and every one of my clients that trusted me with their important moments and memories!

I am so excited for what 2021 has in store. I can't wait to see past clients again and I can't wait to meet new clients! Fingers are crossed that things get better and all of my brides and grooms get the wedding they always wanted.

Lastly, super big things are happening in the very near future for my sister. Once she announces you can be sure to see a bunch of excited posts from me! Only thing better would be if I was a little closer to enjoy it more!

Please enjoy a look back at some of my favorite moments of 2020!
